A man went to the doctor with a banana in one ear, a cabbage in the other and a bread roll stuck in his nose. “I know immediately what’s wrong with you”, said the doctor. “You aren’t eating properly!” Have you ever noticed how easy it is to spot what is wrong with the way other people live? Priorities are all wrong, attitudes completely messed up and as for behaviour! If only everyone was like me. But when did we last examine our own attitudes and behaviour with the same degree of impartiality that we bring to our examination of others? More importantly, when did we last properly bring ourselves under the all revealing spotlight of God – and what effect did it have? Steve King offers a few thoughts |
